Ohio High School Volleyball - Maumee Northview
September 26, 2019: Maumee, OH 43537 The Northview Wildcats topped the host Maumee Panthers volleyball team by a score of 3-1 in Thursday's league test.
The Wildcats now have a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Whitmer for a non-league test on Monday, September 30. Northview will confront a Panthers team coming off a 3-0 league loss to St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, OH). The Panthers record now stands at 7-10.
The Panthers (11-6) will now prepare for their test against Delta (Delta, OH). The Panthers enter the non-league test with a 2-11 record. In their last test, Delta was knocked off by Swanton (Swanton, OH), 3-0, in a league test.
Match Summary
MAUMEE - As the 2019 regular season winds down, Northview traveled to Maumee in the second contest between the two schools. As the first one ended, so did the second match-up; Northview winning 3-1.
Leading for Northview was senior captain, Hannah Frame, with a team high 21 kills, hitting .275, and 15 digs, another double-double for Frame. Also leading on the offense was freshman outside hitter, Sydney Hires, with 13 kills. As a team Northview had 80 digs - Emma Dukate team high 21; Morgan Brixey 19, Clare Kwiatkowski 10. Kwiatkowski also had 48 assists, capturing a double-double.
Northview enjoys a long weekend before returning to the court on Monday night verse Whitmer. Freshman start at 4:30 P.M., JV at 5:30 P.M. and Varsity at 7:00 P.M. This match is our annual Dig Pink match to fundraise for the Sideout Foundation for breast cancer research.
