October 4, 2018: Sylvania, OH 43560 In Thursday's league contest, the Southview Cougars (Sylvania, OH) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH), by a margin of 3-0.
Next up, the Cougars face the Anthony Wayne Generals (Whitehouse, OH) in a Northern Lakes contest, on Tuesday, October 9. Southview will attempt to better on its 18-2 season record. The Generals go into the contest with a 9-7 record after their 3-0 league loss to Perrysburg (Perrysburg, OH).
With the loss, Northview moves to 14-6 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Perrysburg (Perrysburg, OH) to face the Yellowjackets in a Northern Lakes contest on Tuesday, October 9. The Yellowjackets go into the contest with a record of 15-5. Perrysburg won 3-2 in their recent league contest against Bowling Green (Bowling Green, OH)
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - The Crosstown Showdown has really been a great rivalry in the past few years, however, in 2018, Southview has won both match-ups against Northview, this last match going to Southview in straight sets.
Northview could never find their grove in the match, constantly playing from behind. As a team, they hit a season low .143, with only 22 kills in the three sets, and a passed a 1.89 with 43 errors. Southview outplayed Northview to remain at the top of the NLL, tied with Perrysburg.
Northview returns to the court on Tuesday as they travel to Perrysburg to play the tied first place NLL team. JV starts at 5:00 P.M., Varsity at 6:30 P.M.
