Garinger (Charlotte, N.C.) was shut out by a combined score of 140-0 in its first three games of the 2017 season.
In fact, the Wildcats hadn't won in 55 outings – a streak that extended all the way back to Oct. 21, 2011 when they beat Harding University School (Charlotte) 16-14.
Garinger wiped away the ugly streak in emphatic fashion Friday night, shutting out Central Academy of Technology and Arts (Monroe) 42-0.
The struggle has been real for the Wildcats as they reached double digits in the scoring column just once the entire 2016 season. Garinger hadn't scored more than 30 points in a game since 2010.
