Video: Nayquan Wright Ultimate Highlights
Wright finished off Central with 51-yard TD run for Carol City.Usually when a Top 25 national high school football team gets beat, it tends to be down to the wire.
Not so at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami, where
Carol City (Miami) steamrolled archrival and 11th-ranked
Central (Miami) 34-7 on Friday night.
Nayquan Wright put the finishing touches on the lopsided affair with a 51-yard touchdown scamper late in the fourth quarter.
There were plenty of other big plays for the Chiefs (3-2), who got touchdown passes of 80 and 11 yards from
Marlon Smith to
Terrence Horne and
Victor Tucker, respectively.
Tucker (4 yards) and Wright (1 yard) scored on other TD runs as the Chiefs jumped to a 21-0 hafltime lead and never let up.
Super junior running back
James Cook had a 3-yard scoring late in the third quarter for Central, which was plagued by penalties all night.
Carol City was well-prepared to pull the major upset over 11th-ranked Central.
