Imhotep Charter has finished 31-2 in each of the last two seasons, dominating Pennsylvania competition with back-to-back PIAA Class AAAA state championships.
This season, Imhotep Charter begins the season with its highest preseason ranking in school history, after ending the season ranked Nos. 3 and 11, respectively, over the past two seasons.
The Panthers return four of five starters from last season and feature a roster with experience at every position.
Led by Pennylvania Sports Writers Class AAAA first team All State selections Bishop and Scott, the experienced group will take on the most challenging schedule it has faced since arriving to the dominant Philadelphia Public League power.
The back-to-back state champions travel to the City of Palms and face fellow Top 10 foes Sunrise Christian Academy, McEachern and Montverde Academy in a loaded slate of games.
While the Panthers look like a virtual lock for their third consecutive state championship, the biggest question is just how good this team can be on the national stage, while facing one of the most challenging schedules in high school basketball?
