DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), which plays for the WCAC championship, rose to the No. 1 spot while IMG Academy, which ended its season several weeks ago, fell to No. 2.
Maryville, which has a 43-game winning streak, made the biggest move this week as it rose from No. 23 to No. 8. Roswell (Ga.) also moved into the top 10, rising from No. 17 to No. 7.
The regional rankings are based on the
MaxPreps Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The South region includes teams from Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
