Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) moved up from No. 2 to No. 1 in the West while Prosper (Texas) jumped all the way to No. 1 from No. 10 in the Southwest after winning the Texas Class 4A state championship.
In the Midwest, Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) moved up from No. 2 to No. 1 while Mattituck (N.Y.) went from being unranked to the No. 1 spot after winning the Class B state championship in New York.
Oxford (Miss.), which was No. 1 in the last regional rankings on June 2, was the only team to retain its No. 1 ranking.
The ratings are based on the
MaxPreps Computer Rankings, which are posted twice a week. Also check out
playoff brackets from around the nation.
The five regions are divided as follows:
West: California, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado
Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas
Southwest: Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico
South:
Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee,
Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia,
Maryland
Northeast: Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey,
District of Columbia, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode
