Friar Storylines
* Hurley — also the school president — has been at it for over 40 years at St. Anthony. He's piled up 1,130 career wins, which is good for third on the all-time list (as compiled by the NFHS Record Book). Only Robert Hughes of Fort Worth, Texas with 1,333 wins and Morgan Wootten of
DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) with 1,274 wins have more. Recent comments by Hurley suggest he has no plans of stepping aside any time soon.
* Strong guard play has been a trademark of great St. Anthony teams under Hurley. While it may not quite be the Jio Fontan-Mike Rosario-Tyshawn Taylor-Travon Woodall backcourt for the 2007-08 national championship team, Georgetown commitment Mosely leads a deep group of perimeter players.
* Mading, who will be joined by freshman brother Marial at St. Anthony this year, is a certified basketball traveler. Born in Sudan, he moved with his family to Perth, Australia in 2002. Last year he made the jump to the United States and played for The Rock in Florida before winding up in the Garden State for the 2015-16 season.
