Why it's big: It's the midway point in top-ranked Bishop Gorman's early-season gauntlet against high-caliber out-of-state opponents. The Gaels (2-0) have extended their winning streak to 26 games with double-digit-margin wins against defending Arizona champ Chandler and reigning Utah titlist Bingham (South Jordan) this season.
Friday is the season opener for Bellevue, which is 8-2 against non-Washington teams the past 11 years. The last time the Wolverines played a No. 1 team was in 2004, when they ended the national-record 151-game winning streak for De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) in very memorable fashion.
Names to watch: Bishop Gorman's top offensive producers this year have been juniors. Running back
