See the Bishop Gorman High running back turn in spectacular plays in his team's win over Chandler.Bishop Gorman is picking up right where it left off in 2014: as the No. 1-ranked team in the nation.
Following losses by No. 1 De La Salle and No. 2 Miami Central, Bishop Gorman moves to the top spot after
dispatching nationally ranked Chandler, 35-14. The Gaels have arguably the nation's top quarterback in
Tate Martell and the country's top offensive playmaker in
Tyjon Lindsey. An upcoming four-game stretch against Bingham (Utah), Bellevue (Wash.), Long Beach Poly (Calif.) and Servite (Calif.) will provide challenges for the nation's top team, which also faces Don Bosco Prep later in the season.
Despite the No. 1 team hailing from Nevada, the epicenter of high school football right now is the Dallas Metroplex. Not only did Euless Trinity stun previous No. 1 De La Salle, but Arlington Martin dominated previous No. 5 DeSoto.
Cedar Hill opened with a triumphant victory over South Oak Cliff and enters the rankings alongside Trinity and Martin. All three check in behind three-time defending state champion Allen, which enjoyed a nice rise in the rankings after an impressive performance against Denton Guyer.
