Video: 2015-16 Basketball Early Contenders, presented by Dick's Sporting Goods and Under ArmourJason Hickman of MaxPreps breaks down high school basketball's national championship contenders.
When historians look back on this era of high school basketball, it will be difficult to ignore the dominance of two schools: defending national champion
Montverde Academy (Fla.) and
Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.).
Over the past five seasons, the two programs have combined for a record of 324-27 (.923 winning percentage) and four national titles.
With two of the high school game's biggest personalities (Montverde's Kevin Boyle and Oak Hill's Steve Smith) still hungry and attracting elite-level talent to their respective locales, don't expect a dip in 2015-16.
Both teams figure prominently into our look at high school basketball's elite heading into the 2015-16 season. Read on for a look at top teams, players and storylines on the hardwood this winter.

2014-15 record: 47-1, No. 2 final national ranking
Star watch: Harry Giles (6-9, 225, Sr., PF)

according to 247Sports. There are six other Warriors standing 6-foot-6 or taller and a talented junior duo in the backcourt in
Matt Coleman (6-1) and
Devontae Shuler (6-2).
Editor's Note: Shortly after the publication of this story, it was announced that Giles will miss the 2015-16 season with an ACL injury. Advanced Prep International (Dallas)Full team previewHead coach: Ray Forsett
2014-15 record: New program
Star watch: Terrance Ferguson (6-6, 185, Sr., SG)
Breakdown: After Prime Prep closed its doors, Forsett picked up the pieces and put together a monster at API. In addition to Alabama commitment Ferguson, the Bulldogs feature a pair of Top 10 2017 prospects in

2014-15 record: 26-4, Division V state champions
Star watch: Cody Riley (6-8, 240, Jr., PF)

Devearl Ramsey (5-10, 175, Sr., PG), electric
Remy Martin (5-11, 175, Jr., PG), defensive stopper

Star watch: Jayson Tatum (6-8, 195, Sr., SG/SF)

Michael Lewis II (6-2, 175, Sr., SG) will all play Division I basketball.

2014-15 record: 31-3, No. 4 final national ranking
Star watch: Miles Bridges (6-7, 225, Sr., SF)
Breakdown: A recent blowout scrimmage loss to Oak Hill Academy was a bit of a red flag, but Bruce is still pulling together a lot of new parts. It's difficult to envision a team featuring Bridges and Indiana commitment

Oldsmar Christian (Fla.)Full team previewHead coach: Jordan Fair
2014-15 record: 26-4
Star watch: Eric Hester (6-3, 175, Sr., PG/SG)

Star watch: Jagan Mosely (6-3, 205, Sr., SG)
Breakdown: Hurley may have his best team since 2011-12 when the Friars went 32-0 and won the national title. Guard play should be a strength with Georgetown commitment Mosely,
R.J. Cole (5-8, 145, Jr., PG),

Asante Gist (5-11, 170, Sr., PG).

2014-15 record: 29-5
Star watch: M.J. Cage (6-9, 240, Sr., PF/C)
Breakdown: Sierra Canyon and Chino Hills are stealing some of the headlines in Southern California but don't count out McKnight's Monarchs. Seven players return with significant experience and transfers

Justice Sueing (6-7, 200, Jr., SF) will have a major impact.
Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.)Full team previewHead coach: Luke Barnwell
2014-15 record: 19-4
Star watch: Isiah Jasey (6-8, 220, Jr., PF)
Breakdown: Barnwell has a lot of new parts to put together, but if he can get things to click — watch out. The roster has been bolstered in recent weeks with the addition of talented transfers Kameron McGusty (6-5, 175, Sr., SG) of Texas and
Lindy Waters III (6-5, 180, Jr., SG) from Oklahoma.
Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.)Full team previewHead coach: Andy Johnson
2014-15 record: 29-3, No. 6 final national ranking
Star watch: Markus Howard (5-11, 165, Jr., PG/SG)
Breakdown: This seems low for the Pilots, but there are more questions and less experience (just two seniors) on the roster than in past years. Amidou Bamba (6-7, 235, Sr., PF),
