Domination by
Long Beach Poly (Calif.) during the Moore League schedule year after year has led to some using the phrase "The Moore is less." Year after year, the Jackrabbits obliterate the league made up of schools in Long Beach, Lakewood and Compton.
On Friday, it went to a new level, as the Jackrabbits posted 99 points in their 99-9 victory over Compton.

Maybe the Tarbabes angered Poly. They took the opening kickoff 90 yards and within 25 seconds, Compton had a 6-0 lead after a touchdown pass.
The onslaught began soon after. Poly netted 35 points in the first quarter, and by halftime it was 63-9. Three more touchdowns came in the third quarter to make it 84-9, and according to
Mike Guardabascio of the Long Beach Press-Telegram, the 15 points in the fourth included a 2-point conversion where the holder bobbled a snap and by instinct ran the ball in despite coaches yelling for him not to.
Chile Gomez was 13-for-13 on point-after attempts.
Just how dominant has Poly been in the league? In the MaxPreps era, since 2004, the Jackrabbits finished undefeated in the league every time except 2009, when they dropped games to Millikan and Lakewood.
Another big blowout occurred in Washington on Friday, with
Lincoln (Tacoma, Wash.) winning 91-0 over Mount Tahoma (Tacoma).
A 99-9 score certainly is newsworthy. But you can
